The treehouse next to our parking lot is now being built.  Although the second floor has been completed, the whole house is supposed to be completed by Sep, 2017.

Now is the best season to enjoy the fresh young leaves! You may enjoy taking an afternoon nap or reading a book leisurely with wild birds singing.

Our inn is a rustic traditional Japanese wooden house. about 70 years old. It looks like traditional Ryokan but with an American twist, I speak English and do away with formality. Nothing intimidating for non-Japanese travelers.

Here, cooking plans are not mandatory. You can cook in our roomy kitchen. We can take you to a local supermarket and a winery to get what you need to enjoy your dinner.  You might want to barbecues outside on warm sunny day.

There are hiking trails, caves, waterfalls, a river around our inn. Or you just like to stay inside to relax with a warm wood stove.

There is a public bathhouse across from our inn. Some of you might be uncomfortable with communal baths. Don't worry! Our baths are both private and available 24 hours a day. 

Hello, I'm Hisako, the owner and the inn keeper of Kaneki. I lived in US for 7 years to study chemistry and pharmacy and had been working for a pharmaceutical company and as a translator in Tokyo till 2014. Then I came back to my hometown with my boyfriend to take over my family's business, an old lovely hot spring inn. The mountains and the river here used to be my playground when I was a little girl. Now I will be more than happy to show you around and help you have an authentic Japanese experience.
